Getting There

Sat Nav: MK15 0DT

By Road & Parking

Follow the directions using the sat nav address above. It will bring you to the North Car Park where there is plenty of parking available. The car park charges and prices can be found here.

Please allow enough time for your journey. We suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the event to give yourself enough time to find a parking space and to get to the start / finish areas, use the loos etc.

By Rail

Please travel to Milton Keynes Central station (London trains leave from Euston on the Birmingham line). The start & finish area is 2.8m away so we would suggest taking a taxi found outside the station. It will be a 10-minute journey time.

Cycle

Use the Redways to bring you to Willen Lake where there are bike parking facilities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Race Day Information

All race information should be on this website, but we will email you a week before the event as a reminder and to wish you well! On race day, there is an Information Marquee in the start / finish area.

Race Numbers

Pick them up from us on race day at the Information Marquee

Baggage

We have a secure baggage area in place next to our Info Marquee, however, if you have travelled by car, it is always safer to leave your bags and valuables in the boot and the car park next to the start / finish area.

Changing

There are no changing facilities so please arrive in your running kit.

Water

Water will be available on the course at the halfway point on the loop and as you pass the end of each loop. So, if running laps, you will receive water at: 2.5m, 5m, 7.5m, 10m, 12.5m, 15m, 17.5m and everyone receives water at the finish line.

Please bring your own water to drink prior to the start.

First Aid

Medical support will be present on the course and at the finish. You should be relatively fit and have no known medical conditions that would place your health in danger. Please note – do not run with a cold or flu. This can be extremely dangerous.

Toilets

Toilets will be placed on the lawns by the start / finish area. They are accessible to the route if you need to stop mid-run.

Music and Headphones?

We organise this event under UK Athletics rules. If you choose to run with standard headphones your insurance cover from UK Athletics will be invalidated should any incidents occur which cause injury to you or should any actions by you cause injury to other runners/members of the public.

Runners wearing headphones or using music whilst competing in these races do, therefore, open themselves up to legal action for personal injury by any aggrieved third parties.

The only headphones that are acceptable under the insurance and accepted by UKA are the Bone Conduction Headphones. These allow you to hear external noises that would otherwise be blocked by conventional headphones.

Timing & Results

ALL races will be timed from gun to finish line using a laser reader that picks up the bar code on your race number. It is highly effective and accurate.

Results will be posted as soon as possible after the last race has finished on race day.

Refreshments

Available in the Willen Lake kiosks.

General Refunds

Like virtually all races in the UK, we use the entry fees to put on the event. Because of this, we regret that once entry applications have been processed, we cannot refund any entry fees to runners who do not eventually take part or wish to pull out prior to the event.

Distance Changes

If you wish to change distance prior to the event, you can. Please drop us an email informing us of your distance change. Those changing up a distance will need to pay the difference.

If having a bad run on race day and wish to finish a lap short, that’s fine.

Let us know when you enter the finishing field so we can adjust our finishers results.

Wheelchair Users and Special Needs

We welcome wheelchair users but please be mindful of the paths which are quite narrow in parts and allow room for passing.

Anyone with a severe special need must be accompanied by a helper / guardian / guide to ensure their safety

How Fit? Cut-Off Time?

We need to be finished by 2pm in agreement with Willen Lake giving you 4 hours to complete your event. If doing the 20 mile, those who will clearly be outside the 4hr mark on their third lap will be routed to the finish line to complete 15m.

Clothing & Footwear

Please wear clothing specifically designed for running in, made from a technical fibre that will wick away moisture keeping you dry. Cotton will absorb moisture and become heavy.

Always wear running specific footwear. You’ll maybe uncomfortable and risk injury if you are wearing a shoe designed for another sport.

DON’T FORGET

– To eat well and to avoid alcohol the night before the event
– To eat something light and drink plenty of water on the morning of the event
– To pick up your race number on race day.
